This is the world premiere of The Hiya Dunes brand new music video for their track “Black Fur.”
These SUNY Purchase students (featuring members of The Guru and High Pop) have been hard at work self-recording their debut album, High Tide, which will finally be hitting shores April 24th via Seagreen Records. They are producing 200 cassette tapes, which can be preordered here. 5 bucks will get you an eleven track tape, digital download, and an 8-page lyrics/art booklet drawn by the band members. It’ll also be available for free download on their Bandcamp.
The video, which was produced by the band, features a classic Cowboys Vs. Indians scenario, cheap beer, and light-hearted hijinks. Their album is definitely going to be one to soundtrack your summer, and those long, never-ending nights. This track would not feel out of place on a King Khan or Black Lips record, or even The Cramps’ Psychedelic Jungle. While being so breezy, fun, and organic, The Hiya Dunes somehow seem to transcend seasons, and leave more to be enjoyed after the months of June and July pass us by. And when they do, we have their music to look back on - a washed out, grainy, portrait of those small town nights.
